Go swimming together
If your a mother and daughter lucky enough to live by the beach, spending the day together splashing around and jumping waves is a great way for moms and daughters to bond.
Be sure to get funnel cake and ice cream! If the beach is not an option, perhaps you have a swimmable lake nearby. Other options would be local pool clubs or a fun waterpark.
Lucky enough for me, New Jersey (where I live), offers all of these options.
We even have the Delaware River where you can go tubing together.
If you choose any of these options, make sure you go in style. If you want adorable matching swimsuits, Lil' Fashionistas has got you covered!
Go to a fancy brunch together
Nothing is sweeter than getting dressed up on a Sunday morning and going to a fancy restaurant for brunch! This would be an extra special activity especially if your child has never been to a really nice brunch. Kids love brunch because there is usually so many different foods to choose from.
From pancakes with extra whipped cream, to scrambled eggs, carved meats, fruit salad, and a plethora of pastries and desserts, your little one is sure to find something they will enjoy!
Dress up together in coordinating mommy and me dresses so you can make a grand entrance together!
Make sure to bring your camera to take pictures together to capture fond memories of the day.
Pamper yourselves at the spa
This is another great idea if your daughter has never experienced a spa treatment. Try to find a spa that caters to children as well as adults.
Depending on the age of your child, you can let them choose their own treatment such as a manicure, pedicure, facial, or even getting massages together,
A mommy and me spa day is a fabulous way to bond with your daughter.
Mommy and me classes
If you are looking for an educational option, taking a mommy and me class together is a great idea. You will both meet other moms and daughters during the class and you could potentially make new friends!
These types of classes are great way to engage with your baby or toddler. Many have cool activities like little mock clothing stores where kids can try on clothes, fun play areas, painting stations, and much more.
Some mommy and me classes specialize in singular niches like musical classes, art classes, sensory classes, STEM classes, and even cool storytelling classes among many others.
If you're looking for something different to do, you'll be sure to find a fun mommy and me class that you can enjoy together in your area!
Go to a concert together
Kids of any age love concerts! If it's in the summer time you can find an outdoor concert and you guys can plan a little picnic together.
Your child will cherish the time with you at a fun concert. Of course make sure that you pick age-appropriate music and a cool venue!
Be creative when finding venues. A lot of the times you can find free venues. Search locally for places like libraries, churches, restaurants, community centers, local coffee shops and even museums!
Spend the night in a hotel - just the two of you
Take your little one for special overnight trip to a hotel. Bring a tent for your little one and let her camp out on the floor or make your own tent out of blankets and sheets.
Order pizza and watch a movie together.
Don't forget the dance party and pillow fight!
Spending the night with your little one will ensure that she has your full attention. It will surely be a night she will always remember.
Bake a cake together
Pick a fun theme. For example you can try to make an animal like a rabbit or dog. See if you can find fondant eyes or if not you could always buy edible googly eyes at the craft store and carefully put them in the frosting when you're done.
Another great idea is to try to make a princess cake.
Other cake ideas include trying to make a starfish, a snake, or a turtle.
Try to make a cake that looks like a different food like a cheeseburger.
Lastly, another fun idea would be to make a bunch of cupcakes with different little funny faces on them. You could have a contest of who makes the funniest cupcake!
I hope you liked our fun mommy and me bonding activity ideas.
